CREATIVE STUDIO

Founded by Cléo Döbberthin and Lorenzo Lo Schiavo, PALMA emerged at the intersection of architecture, art, and design. Friends since their time at Escola da Cidade in São Paulo, they followed different paths—Lorenzo moved to London to complete his studies in architecture, while Cléo devoted herself to the visual arts—until reconnecting in 2019. Their collaboration took shape during the pandemic, bringing together Lorenzo’s experience leading Pindorama Studio and Cléo’s artistic research at Olhão.

PALMA’s first project arose spontaneously through a collaboration with a Brazilian fashion store, establishing the studio’s experimental approach, which quickly gained recognition in the fields of retail, interior design, and furniture design. In 2022, Lorenzo and Cléo launched Circuito Barra Funda, a collective movement aimed at strengthening independent design in São Paulo.

Today, PALMA releases annual furniture collections, questioning mass production and expanding the dialogue between handcrafted and contemporary design, redefining Brazilian design on the global stage.
