“MASP April 7th” – Chair

The “MASP April 7th” Chair, designed in 1947 by Italian-Brazilian architect and designer Lina Bo Bardi, is a rare and iconic piece of Brazilian Mid-century furniture. Created specifically for the São Paulo Museum of Art (MASP) auditorium on 7th April Street, the chair reflects Bo Bardi’s commitment to accessible and functional design. With a foldable and stackable structure made of rosewood and leather, it was conceived to meet practical needs while embodying the aesthetic values of modernist design. A key figure in Brazilian architecture and design, Bo Bardi is also known for the Bowl Chair, the SESC Pompeia, and her work promoting socially engaged, human-centered design.
